Preboarding Information

Reserve Early

Paw Prince does offer a variety of accommodations for your pet, but the sooner you make your pet’s reservation the better. Holidays, weekends and summer months tend to book quickly. To schedule a reservation simply call ahead or make your reservation online. We recommend you print out all necessary forms and have you veterinarian fax us your pet’s records prior to check-in. A 50% deposit is required at time of reservation to guarantee, refer to our Rules and Regulations for our cancellation policy.

Preparing Your Pet

If this is your pet’s first resort visit, you may consider short overnight stays prior to an extended stay.

Please make sure your pet is flea and tick free. We check all pets for flea and ticks upon arrival and should a bath or flea treatment be necessary, this will be done for a fee at any time during stay.

Your Separation Anxiety

Pets can sense your anxiety, so you being calm and comfortable will help them feel everything is all right. Try to relax and enjoy your getaway!

Remember, your pet is in good hands, and excited about a new adventure.

Communication

Be sure to let us know any special needs or problems your pet may have, such as hearing loss, fear of thunder, excessive barking, etc. This ensures that we are able to provide the best care possible.

Make sure you know your travel and boarding dates. Let us know the day/date/time you intend to drop off your pet and the day/date/time you intend to pick up. Be sure to have contact numbers where you can be reached plus a local contact while away in case of an emergency or just for a question.

Health & Vaccination Records

We ask that you have your vet fax vaccination records to us at 813.995.9897 prior to your arrival to speed up the check-in process. In order to ensure the health of your dog we require that Bordatella, and Rabies be current. Bordetella must be done within six months of visit. We only accept vaccines administered by a veterinarian. If your pet has never had vaccines, vaccines must be administered two weeks prior to visit. We ask that you or your vet's office fax your shot records directly to us prior to the stay. We do not accept pets in heat, if your pet goes into heat while at Paw Prince additional fees will apply.

Bedding

Paw Prince provides all bedding for our guests. If you feel it is necessary to bring bedding, please make sure the item is not fluff filled and small enough to fit in our wash machine. All bedding is washed prior to pick up. Also clearly mark the item with your pet's name in permanent marker.

Treats & Toys

We provide treats while your dog is here. The safest type of chew is one that does not break down into larger than pea sized pieces.

We've found, through experience, that certain toys can be hazardous to pets. We reserve the right to restrict any toys or treats that may harm your pet.

Medications

From our own experience we know there are times when a pet may need medication. Be sure to bring any special medicines your pet is currently taking along with dosing directions and any special instructions your vet may have provided. Please provide pills in pillbox.

Food

We recommend that all dogs remain on their current diet while boarding. Abrupt changes in diet can cause undue stress to your dog's body. Please bring just enough food for the stay in prepackaged Ziplocs or Tupperware. Extra food will be donated to a local shelter. We serve Royal Canine Sensible Choice dry food at no extra fee.

Checking Out & Returning Home

Be sure to write down our check-out hours so you can schedule your pick up accordingly. Pets tend to be excited when you arrive and when they're home, so be careful about overfeeding or offering too much water initially. Offer a few ice cubes and a small amount of food until your pet calms down and gets into his or her normal routine.

We keep records of your pet's stay and how they adapted to help us accommodate him or her in the future. We will share this information with you when you check out.

Forms

In order to provide the best care possible for our visitors, we adhere to certain policies and procedures designed to ensure the safety, protection, and comfort of the animals we serve.
